A Sample Poem from Heartstrings  written for a friend diagnosed with cancer

Thinking Of You

You may feel scared and angry

I'm sorry this has happened to you

As your friend I feel so helpless

I just don't know what to do

Words cannot express

The pain you must feel right now

I wish I could make it all better

I'm sorry.... I don't know how

Just know I'm always here for you

Call on me night or day

If it's only just to talk

Or kneel and silently pray

If you need comfort, lean on me

If you need strength, hold my hand

Or if you need to be alone

As your friend, I'll understand

As we journey down life's highway

The hills we must climb keep us strong

But only God will know

If our journey will be short or long

With Love

Your Friend Margaret

May you have the strength and hope to meet each new tomorrow.

A Sample Poem from Newfoundland & Labrador: Poetry, Interesting Facts and Me Mudder's Old Ditties & Sayings

Clothesline

You can tell a lot about the people

By the clothes that hang on the line

Flapping in the warm summer breeze

Whitening in the bright sunshine

How many children do they have?

The ages and their gender

Do they have a guest stay there?

Are they heavy set or slender ?

A young man’s shirt and pants

And Poppy’s old wool vest

Nanny’s good white apron

A little girl’s frilly dress

You can see a soldier’s uniform

Hanging proudly on the line

They’ll say farewell to family soon

To fight a war of some kind

Maternity wear lets us know

There is a little one on its way

Yes you can always tell a story

By the clothing on display
